U.S. Postal National Food Drive is on Saturday May 13th and we are getting excited!

The Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf will be hosting the postal carriers from Burnsville, Burnsville Rural routes and Apple Valley Post Office. Once again, the Allstate Peterbilt Group (www.allstatepeterbiltgroup.com) is providing two 53’ trailers to store collected nonperishable foods during the drive. Over the past three years, the postal drive accumulated over 60,000 pounds of food each year to fuel the food shelf through the summer months. The Fruit of the Vine is happy to share unsorted food bins with other food shelves in Dakota County.

Volunteers are needed at both collection locations:

  • Burnsville collection is unloading the carrier trucks at:

South Metro Vineyard Church

13798 Parkwood Drive

Burnsville, MN 55337

Volunteers are asked to show up at 1:30pm and will last until 4:30pm

Teams will be broken into groups to assist unloading multiple postal trucks into storage bins for sorting

  • Apple Valley collection site is at the Apple Valley Post Office:

7287 153rd Street West

Apple Valley, Minnesota 55124-7019

Volunteers are asked to show up at 1:30pm and will last until 4:30pm
